Removable and fixed prothesis

Prothesis can’t be missing from our fastidious life if we want to have a good appearance. Nowadays prothesis have developed in a remarkable way and they can fulfill almost any need. We can offer a suitable solution for every kind of edentia. There is always a thorough examination before we make a prothesis, after the preparations and the proper oral hygieni the patient can choose from many possible solutions. We make a removable prothesis just if there aren’t enough teeth for fixing the prothesis or holding the unit. In such cases we connect the existing teeth with a unit, then we connect the removable part to the fix part with an ’invisible’ fixing. This way we can provide a more pleasing and more stable prothesis. Fixed prothesis can give the patients a natural and pleasing smile. The metal frame of the traditional metal ceramic crowns doesn’t let light through , therefore the transparency of crowns made by this method is seemingly very different from natural teeth.

Zirconium and its use in dental practice.

If we take a look at the well-known Mengyeleyev’s periodic table, we can find zirconium at the 40th place. This element is also called zircon. It is a very hard and solid material, which can cut even steel. It is chemically a very resistant material , only concentrated vitriol acid can melt it. By taking up oxigen (O2) zirconium (Zr) becomes zirconium-dioxid (ZrO2), which is the basic of almost every zircon-product. Zirconium-dioxid is a top-quality ceramics which has been used for decades , for examle at making artificial hip-prosthesis. In today’s modern dentistry the zirconium-dioxid’s (zircon) dynamic development and spread can be seen , because it is remarkably many-sided, strong and aesthetically perfect. Today to our knowledge zirconium is the most modern and highest quality dental material. The reason, why it has started to spread only in the last decades in dentistry, is that making zirconium-oxid dental prothesis needs a very special so called, CAD/CAM system, so traditional dental labs are not suitable for making it. It started to spread in the 1990s when the so called CAD/CAM systems appeared. Preparation of zirconium-oxid is possiple only with the use of this computer system. If You want Your dental prothesis to be like Your original teeth , You should ask your doctor for a unit or crown made of zirconium. Because zirconium can be colored to match the healthy teeth’s color nearby.

The steps of making zirconium prothesis are:

a precise plaster-cast is made of the impression of the teeth
The dental technician puts the plaster-cast into a special scenner, which transforms each and every point of the sample into a picture element and loads it into the computer
The dental technician describes gaphically the frame of the later prothesis, creates the size and the form etc. on the computer.
According to the information given the robot controled by a computer will carve the wanted frame with micrometeric precision out of the zirconium-oxid block.
The dental technician builds up the normal covering ceramic onto this frame layer by layer, colors it and forms it according to the needs of the patient and the doctor.
The doctor cements the perfectly pleasant and lifelike prothesis to the prepared post.

You should choose a solution for replacing tooth gap (edentia), where there is some kind of frame material under the porcelain covering. Solutions without any kind of frame material, such as press-ceramic, aren’t long-lasting, they are vulnerable and can break easily, although they are esthetically excellent. The transparency of zircon (metalfree) prothesis is natural, light can pervade through it as much as through original teeth. A well-made zircon crown is difficult to recognise even for a specialist.

Implant

Losing our teeth can cause not only physical but psychical problems too. We don’t dare to smile , we have bad mood and we can’t do our job properly. Implants in contrast to traditional dentistry give You a chance to have fixed prosthesis even if there are no possibilities for it with other methods. Implanting artificial root belongs to modern prosthetic dentistry. It is made of titanium which the body can accept easily without any allergic reaction. Implants can fulfill their chewing and esthetical function lifelong.

The process of implantation: There is a thorough examination before the operations. The specialist checks the possibility of implantation on a free consultation and with the help of an X-ray, made in advance, he/she plans the future prothesis together with the patient. A laboratory findings can be necessary too. The operations can be made just in case of proper oral hygenie, so it is very important to follow the preparational advice of the specialist. The operation is made by local anesthesia in an ambulant way. The implanted artificial root is closed by stiches, which will be removed in a week. The healing part usually takes about 3 weeks. During this time bone cells enter into the pores of the artificial root, which guarantes a stable and strong fixing. After a control x-ray a buit-up is screwed into, which will hold the future prothesis. After the usual impression take and dental works we give our patients a beautiful smile.

What advantages do such prothesis have?

If we have just one or two teeth missing, we can leave the nearby teeth intact. With the help of the implant there is no need to polish/rub a tooth and even the original chewing and esthetical function can be replaced. When missing tooth at the ends, you can have just removable prothesis with the traditional dentistry. By implanting artificial root fixed units can be made in order that our patient could have a healthy lifestyle. When there is complete toothlessness , according to the thickness of the bone we can implant fixed circle-units or posts which increase the stability of the removable prothesis. In both cases you can have a much better sense of comfort and chewing function.

Porcelain veneers

In case of breaking or discoloration of the frontal teeth porcelain shell can be made. This means that 0.5-1 mm tooth substance will be removed from the frontal surface of the teeth and after taking an impression of the tooth on the next treatment the prepared and esthetically suitable prosthesis will be cemented.

According to the most simple classification there are two kinds of appliances:

1. Removable braces

As their name suggest, they are good for nightly use, and they contain different expanding screws and springs depending on the deformation. With the help of these teeth can be moved. Their use is usually recommended till the age of 12, but there are exceptions of course. The efficiency of the removable braces depends largely on the fact that how long and how often the patient wears it.

2. Fixed braces

The main parts of these braces are the ‘locks’ or ‘brecketts’, which are fixed to the teeth with a special glue. The material of the brecketts can be metal, plastic or porcelain. The brecketts are connected to each other by spans , which are fixed by o-rings to the brecketts. A more precise and finer tooth movement can be made by the fixed braces.

Gum recession treatment

Ultrasonic scaling

We make ultrasonic tooth scaling before every dental treatment for the proper oral hygiene and for the positive result of the treatment. This treatment can remove even the ’invisible’ scale under the gums, then we clean the more difficultlly accessible parts with a manual machine. Finally, a thorough polishing makes Your set of teeth smooth and shiny. Tooth scaling is recommended for every patient every half a year. Airbrush salt polishing

Air polishing is an excellent addition to professional ultrasonic scaling and conventional polishing. During the procedure, a specially formulated, flavoured polishing powder is gently sprayed onto the tooth surfaces under controlled air and water pressure, effectively cleaning areas that are difficult to reach with traditional polishing methods, such as the inner surfaces of the teeth and the spaces between them. Air polishing quickly and effectively removes surface stains caused by coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, and strongly coloured foods, restoring the natural brightness of your teeth. The treatment usually takes around 10 minutes, yet the improvement is often immediately noticeable. For this reason, we highly recommend it after professional scaling. In addition to its cosmetic benefits, air polishing removes fine deposits and biofilm from the tooth surface, leaving your teeth cleaner, smoother, brighter, and healthier, while making it more difficult for plaque to accumulate again.

Air polishing is a complementary treatment to ultrasonic scaling.

Clinic teeth whitening

One of the types of in-office teeth whitening is LED light-activated whitening, a popular treatment among our patients. The whitening gel used in this procedure safely and effectively lightens the colour of the teeth. During the treatment, a specially formulated whitening gel is applied to the surface of the teeth and then activated using a cool LED light. This process enhances the effect of the whitening agent and helps achieve a brighter smile in a safe and controlled way. A dental consultation is always required before treatment to ensure that no teeth requiring restorative care are included in the whitening procedure. This is particularly important in cases of untreated decay or worn (abraded) tooth surfaces, where whitening treatment may not be appropriate.

A fehérítő anyag felhelyezése előtt az íny védelmét kell biztosítani egy speciális folyékony kofferdam segítségével.
A fehérítő felhelyezése után 20 perces LED lámpás aktiválási időszak következik.

Dental Filling

In our surgery in most of the cases we use white pleasing fillings to fill the decayed teeth. Nowadays the materials of the fillings have improved in an amazing way so we can make nice and high standard fillings with these pleasing, well fixing and very enduring filling materials. In case of metal allergy, which happens more and more often, we remove the amalgam filling and replace it with ’invisible’ filling. This way we not only fulfill the aesthetical needs but we also provide a metal free and a more healthy enviroment in the oral cavity.

Root canal treatment

We are all afraid of this operation , because there is a misconception that root canal treatment is always painful. Of course, this is not true, moreover in some cases we don’t feel anything even without narcotization. During root canal treatment we remove the decayed part of the tooth by a drill, then with root canal needles we remove the pulpa from the inside of the tooth and clean the root canals. In most cases we can close the canals immediately, but in special cases we have to leave the tooth open in order that the inflammation in the bone could heal better. After some days we put medicinal filling in the canals and later we fill them completely. The main purpose of this treatment is to save the teeth, because in case of extraction we should make prothesis , which would mean not only plus cost but also in some cases sacrificing healthy teeth.
